What to say exept amazing!!!! it was a wonderfull evening everything was spot on music lighting sound quality maybe a slight glitch ref to intense bass feedback at the opening of Ebow but aside from that pure delight. Jonsi if you read this kiss everybody in the band for me and my two daughters, for them it was their first Sigur Ros concert and at the end they where totally speechless. We and all who where there love you and you are welcome back any time. The new songs are great and Kveikur will be most welcome in our house when released, the high point of the show for me personally was Glossoli, It was the first time i heard it live. ps since you seem to be playing Glossoli at the beginning of your encores you should introduce it with Takk now that would be totally stunning. Bye and all the best for the rest of the tour. Comeback soon

My 4th time seeing the band and each time is amazing!
The Bell Center wasn’t my favorite venue though, it’s too big/open/vast to really create an atmosphere.
The band and accompanying musicians played fabulously! I loved the new songs, my fave being Kveikur. And of course, my all time fave in the finale Popplagið!
I loved the lights bulbs all over on the stage, made it so pretty lighting.
The crowd gave a terrific good bye clap to the band who came back on stage twice.
Thank you so much for the amazing show! It was my first time seeing you guys live and you completely blew my mind! Thank you for making such beautiful and outstanding music!

Ce fût le plus beau (tant visuellement, auditivement et émotionnellement parlant) spectacle que j’ai vu de toute ma vie. Jamais un spectacle ne m’a touché et émerveillé à ce point (j’ai même pleuré comme une madeleine, par moment!). Je suis encore sous le choc, même encore quelques jours plus tard! Les chansons étaient bien choisies, la mise en scène était superbe, et le groupe fût épatant. J’attendais ce jour depuis si longtemps! Nous avons eu droit à plusieurs chansons qui vont figurer sur le prochain album, et il augure a être fantastique, sans contre-dits. L’ambiance était parfaite grâce aux magnifiques projections et aux éclairages divins (les lightbulbs sur scène, entre autres) et surtout grâce à la prestance incroyable du groupe sur scène. Wow, wow, wow. Ce sera dur pour moi de revoir, un jour, un spectacle qui saura “accoter” celui-ci. Il était parfait. Et le mot “parfait” est faible. À la prochaine fois, Sigur Rós!

Le choix des pistes, leur enchainement, les subtilités visuelles avec le grand écran à l’arrière, les projections au début, les ampoules tout autour… Ha, wow! C’était la première fois que je les voyais live, et ça ne sera pas la dernière! Le contraste entre les pistes plus douces et les nouvelles un peu plus rudes est excellent.

I listened to you a lot while walking 3 months in Europe. When I got to the Bell Center, I realised the show was yesterday..! I cried so much, maybe during one hour or something like that, outside of the Bell center… I was so happy to finally hear you live! I am so sad I missed you, I even thought of going to Toronto the day after to see you, but a roadtrip seemed a bit to much to do… I am reading your reviews and it seems you made an awesome show, I hope I can listen to you live someday… Take care.

We have seen a few live shows in our lives and these concert buddies of mine agree that the last time we saw a show as powerfull as this is when we saw Pnk Floyd together decades ago performing Dark Side of the moon. We do not know what your plans are but this tour must be archived for all to share We hope You are planning another Live CD with the addition of the extended band members the music takes on such a dimension, we also think a live dvd just a concert DVD basic like seeing the show from front and center unlike Inni. Je connais cette formation islandaise depuis déjà quelque temps, mais j’avais tout de même très hâte de voir Sigur Rós performer sur scène, ayant entendu parler du caractère singulier d’un tel événement. Malgré toute ma préparation, ma connaissance du niveau d’intensité et de sensibilité de la musique de Sigur Rós et mon habitude pour les prestations musicales, j’ai tout de même été complètement subjugué. Une partie de moi est restée pour toujours au Centre Bell lors de cette soirée inoubliable.
Nous sommes arrivés vers la fin de la première partie, prise en charge par un artiste pratiquement caché et servant plutôt de créateur d’ambiance pour le public s’installant progressivement dans ce demi-Centre Bell qui allait être plutôt plein à l’apogée de la soirée. Du parterre, le son promettait déjà d’être clair et concis et la scène s’élevait au dessus de nous dans une autre promesse de la grandeur à venir. Tout commença enfin, vers 21h.
Sigur Rós ouvrit le bal avec un effet 3d époustouflant réalisé à l’aide d’un jeu de toiles les entourant. Cela donnait l’impression que les images étaient partout sur la scène, se promenant au sein du groupe, au centre même de la musique. Quelques pièces furent jouées ainsi, le groupe ne se montrant que par des jeux d’ombres et de lumières à travers la toile devant eux. Une chose était déjà certaine : le son s’attaquait directement aux tripes, pour s’immiscer insidieusement jusque dans l’âme, tatouant finalement le cœur à jamais, à chaque nouvel accord.
Un frisson collectif fut ressenti dans la salle lorsque la toile tomba sur scène. La foule, déjà totalement en transe, brillait par un silence respectueux digne des plus grands concerts classiques, l’émotion générale venant s’ajouter à cet amour non verbal pour le groupe.
Dans un tourbillon incessant de sons, d’images et de lumières, Sigur Rós offrit à ses admirateurs montréalais deux bonnes heures de spectacle fort en moments magiques et en sensations profondes. Peu bavards, les membres du groupe se sont contentés d’offrir leur musique de la façon la plus fidèle possible, recréant tous les sons de toutes les pièces jouées; l’impact final est par contre beaucoup plus retentissant, chaque pièce étant accompagnée de sa banque vidéo et de ses effets lumineux assortis. Véritable palette de couleurs vivantes, ce spectacle avait la capacité bien spéciale de nous faire oublier la notion de temps et d’espace, transformant tout le parterre en masse informe de zombis attentifs et les rangées de bancs en armée fidèle tournée vers le seul point d’intérêt digne d’attention. C’était comme si toute la salle avait parcouru le monde pour en arriver jusqu’à son extrémité, et y avait trouvé Sigur Rós, ses chansons, sa magie. Impossible de comprendre totalement le phénomène donc, sans l’avoir vécu, tel un traumatisme, mais en plus gratifiant, introspectif, soignant l’être, car l’on n’est porté irrémédiablement à se remettre en question face à tant de talent brut, à la portée toujours juste de la musique de Sigur Rós dans sa dimension extatique.
Je savais déjà que la voix de Jonsi est l’élément majeur dans la construction du son particulier de Sigur Rós, mais ce soir-là, j’ai appris une chose : son jeu à la guitare avec un archet l’est tout autant. Ce qui fait du chanteur la figure plus que centrale de ce qui rend cette formation unique et surtout, capable de remplir un aréna à l’autre bout du monde sans avoir des paroles accessibles à tous et des morceaux de trois minutes. Le jeu d’archet peut sembler anodin de prime abord, puis se révèle à l’oreille progressivement, au fur et à mesure que l’ouïe arrive à percevoir aussi toutes les subtilités du son de Sigur Rós en prestation. Avec onze musiciens sur scène, il est ardu de bien discerner ce que l’archet produit comme sonorité douce et lente, bruit de fond servant de tapisserie constante à la musique du groupe. Utilisé autant pour créer un son discordant et agressif que pour accompagner de quelques notes absolument perceptibles la partition des cordes, cet archet est autant versatile qu’indispensable à la qualité mystique de Sigur Rós.
Avec un petit orchestre sur scène, des ambiances visuelles hypnotisant et une musique plus riche que la plus complexe des langues, Sigur Rós a su me conquérir sur scène encore plus qu’ils ne l’avaient déjà fait sur CD, ajoutant à la qualité de leur travail un souci intègre et sensible de faire vivre leurs créations, de permettre à leur musique de se transcender en chacun de nous, nous changeant à jamais, nous touchant par son message bâti de notre propre interprétation des sons.
À vivre, une, deux, trois fois !

This was my first concert I have ever gone to…and let’s just say I understood the power of music when I felt tears streaming down my face. When the curtain dropped during Ny Batteri, I got the chills like I never have before. Other memorable moments include hearing the first notes of Untitled 1 and realizing that they were playing my favorite song of all time. I loved hearing Varuo, Glosoli, Hoppipola, Saeglopur, and of course, Untitled 8. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to end the show. I was absolutely breathless throughout the entire thing and I realized I hadn’t moved my head the entire time, stuck staring at the musical beauty that is Sigur Ros. After Wednesday, Sigur Ros is now my favorite group, whereas they had only previously been one that I really enjoyed. Every second of every day since the show, I have been thinking about it, reliving every moment in my head. I have made it my goal to see them again multiple times in my lifetime, and bring my father who introduced them to me when I was a child. Simply describing the concert to him in words was not enough to do it justice. Thank you Sigur Ros, with all my heart, for producing such beautiful music that has gotten me through so much and has enhanced my life in incredible ways.

This was my fifth Sigur Ros concert and the first one I’ve been to since I moved to Canada two years ago. Words cannot describe the emotions I felt during these two hours; especially during the grand finale (The Pop Song). Le jeu d’archet peut sembler anodin de prime abord, puis se révèle à l’oreille progressivement, au fur et à mesure que l’ouïe arrive à percevoir aussi toutes les subtilités du son de Sigur Rós en prestation. Avec onze musiciens sur scène, il est ardu de bien discerner ce que l’archet produit comme sonorité douce et lente, bruit de fond servant de tapisserie constante à la musique du groupe. Utilisé autant pour créer un son discordant et agressif que pour accompagner de quelques notes absolument perceptibles la partition des cordes, cet archet est autant versatile qu’indispensable à la qualité mystique de Sigur Rós.
Avec un petit orchestre sur scène, des ambiances visuelles hypnotisant et une musique plus riche que la plus complexe des langues, Sigur Rós a su me conquérir sur scène encore plus qu’ils ne l’avaient déjà fait sur CD, ajoutant à la qualité de leur travail un souci intègre et sensible de faire vivre leurs créations, de permettre à leur musique de se transcender en chacun de nous, nous changeant à jamais, nous touchant par son message bâti de notre propre interprétation des sons.

says:This was my first concert I have ever gone to…and let’s just say I understood the power of music when I felt tears streaming down my face. When the curtain dropped during Ny Batteri, I got the chills like I never have before. Other memorable moments include hearing the first notes of Untitled 1 and realizing that they were playing my favorite song of all time. I loved hearing Varuo, Glosoli, Hoppipola, Saeglopur, and of course, Untitled 8. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to end the show. I was absolutely breathless throughout the entire thing and I realized I hadn’t moved my head the entire time, stuck staring at the musical beauty that is Sigur Ros. After Wednesday, Sigur Ros is now my favorite group, whereas they had only previously been one that I really enjoyed. Every second of every day since the show, I have been thinking about it, reliving every moment in my head. I have made it my goal to see them again multiple times in my lifetime, and bring my father who introduced them to me when I was a child. Simply describing the concert to him in words was not enough to do it justice. Thank you Sigur Ros, with all my heart, for producing such beautiful music that has gotten me through so much and has enhanced my life in incredible ways.

The intro was amazing with the curtain, the videoclips, the orchestra etc All details were there and were perfectly harmonizing with your songs. Your new songs for your new CD seems different and more beat which I appreciate it a lot.

says:This was my fifth Sigur Ros concert and the first one I’ve been to since I moved to Canada two years ago. Words cannot describe the emotions I felt during these two hours; especially during the grand finale (The Pop Song). Tears streamed out of my eyes and when I looked to the woman sitting next to me, I saw that she was crying too. Enough said.
