i saw you last night in my home city and i have to say you were truly remarkable. having followed you for a couple of years, i have wanted to see you play sooner than i did. but last night was well worth the wait. you treated us to a fine selection of your music, and got everyone involved, especially in gobbledigook :). a superb and unforgettable night.....thank you for visiting my home city, and i'll definitely be at another of your gigs soon!!!

sigur ros never fail to impress and tonight definitely cut the mustard. they were simply stunning, as is expected of our favourite icelanders. having been fortunate enough to have seen them headline latitude this summer, i was trying to think of ways in which they could beat that set. to be honest, it remains unbeatable despite the spectacular gig tonight. not having amiina on this tour like they have had for their festival appearances hasn't been a problem at all for sigur ros, who made just as much (beautiful) noise in wolverhampton as if amiina had graced us with their presence. it was just different, that's all. for that reason, tonight is in no way comparable to their latitude appearance.
easing us blissfully through their magical 2 hour set, sigur warmed hearts and earned their affections all the more deservedly. "all alright" was a particular treat for us tonight and it was delivered so beautifully that i felt tears running down my cheeks, a definite first for me. even if the deliberate and exceptionally well-staged 30 second silence - i've never seen people stand so still for so long before! - between verse and chorus did provoke some fans to scream "jonsi's fitttttttt" (which is in no way a bad thing but it did spoil the atmosphere somewhat!) it was a delightful spectacle and something which i have not seen the band do before.
there really isn't anything else i can say about how incredible tonight was. gig-goers, in my opinion, over-use "incredible" and "amazing" when describing gigs they've been to, as if they're scared of admitting a gig they paid £25 to go to was just average. sigur ros needn't worry though. upon writing about tonight's gig, the use of such words is simply unavoidable. incredible. amazing. the end.

my girlfriend and i attended the concert after months and months of waiting on tip toes until finally we arrived. we managed to get centre stage at the very front. it was an unbelievable concert, we've never been to anything like it before, it was amazing being in a room filled with people who actually appreciate music - something that showed by how silent the crowd were during the songs and how loud they were after. i have great respect for sigur rós myself, trying to get my hands on as much pariphanalia as possible, and this concert completely blew me away. the highlight of the concert however, was gobbeldigook, everyone was going absolutely crazy!
one thing that struck me was the aura that the band gave off, jónsi seems to be a shy type of character, but as soon as the beautiful music starts, he becomes a completely different person, it's something everybody should witness.
if i were to be doing a commercial review of this, sigur rós and their team would get five stars, the music was 100%, the sound was 100% and the production was unbelievable, particularly the use of cameras and project on the rear canvas of the stage.
