what a beautiful city. the weather was unbelievable it was so warm. we met this nice girl that took us on a guided tour around the city. jónsi bought a stradivarius violin, or a copy to be more exact. i don't really no much about politics but i found it a bit odd that everybody kept telling me how poor this country is, and the houses looked run down, but everyone seemed to be driving new cars. anyway the city was beautiful.

the venue looked really nice and the sound equipment was amazing. the concert was good i think but halfway thru it started go a little strange. everything got a lot better in the last part and the audience seemed really into it. after the concert a newspaper in portugal gave us two awards for, album of the year and music video of the year. so it was a good day and we were happy.

just came back from my first ever sigur rós concert.. and though i know them for two years now, it's like rebirth. for me, for them. i won't be reviewing the show itself, it was perfect, and like someone in this list already said... i could stay there and listen to them all night long. the setting was perfect. the lights, the mood, the stage...

the public: everyone was perfect - with two exceptions: someone in the public cried out (and very loudly) 'beautiful' in the mid-to-beginning of svefn-g-englar - and though we know it is beautiful, that was totally unnecessary and uncalled for. and during the first 3 or 4 sets, the photgraphers non-flash but buzzy cameras kept interrupting the even flow of the sound. people should be more careful and considerate with regards to live music. if you want to scream or talk to the girl next to you during a concert, maybe you'de be better of at home with a beer watching football or something.

the merchandise: no cd's (and people were asking for them) but very nice clothing (i got a burret and a tshirt - small size - i'm a teeny weeny person). no posters, also :-\ i was kind-of hoping for one...

the band: they followed their previous set-list of old+new material and did the obligatoire encore of 2 songs, this has been discussed elsewhere, and came back to bow to the public twice - during their 10 minute stand-up ovation (it was a sitting theatre). and people were hollering (i think that's the word) with joy and delight. so were they. i think it was geoff in the end that wanted to say something, but the main mic was already turned off, so he just winked, gave us a big wide smile and left the stage, with the band, while people were still cheering.
