a riddle, anyone with an answer
this is a riddle a co-worker told me a couple years back, and still don't have an answer...
His father's son is my father's father...who is he.? please help

i've heard that joke before....i think you remembered it wrong......the answer (as i heard the riddle) ended up that the guy who gave the riddle was
also the guy in the painting

His father's son...either him or his brother.

The way you worded it, it's either your great uncle or your grandfather. There must be something more to this.

so...

father's father = grandfather.
so...
his father's son is my grandfather.
so its either your grandfather or your grandfather's brother.

The riddle is talking about "his" father's son. So if John is "his" and "father" is Steve that makes John Steve's son (It is possible that
Steve could have another son but this is irrelevant). So John is "my" father's father which makes John "my" grandfather. Easy!
