Yay games!

I play World of Warcraft. Not every day or anything, but a couple of times a week for a couple of hours. (Dath'Remar server incidentally).

Also, like many here I have a Nintendo DS Lite. Brain Training has me more absorbed lately than I'd like and I've totally abandoned my Animal Crossing town. I'm scared to see what's happened to it as I've not been playing anywhere near often enough. So much weeding to be done I bet, but I'm too scared to check... :(
I also have a whatsit for playing naughty downloaded pirated games for the DS, so I've been trying lots of different games on it lately. Love Mario Kart DS of course. :D

Weeee!
If Civ4 ran on my Mac, I'd be murdering that, too. Thank the heavens it doesn't.

nah, never fancied it. i may do now that the little vamp orriented expansion is out...

vegas looks great, its simplified (again), but since i actually liked lockdown (for pc) im gonna get it anyway. gears of war will own, as will cod3 although it sucks they aint making for pc (yet). battlefield 2142 looks exciting, but me thinks not a great step forward from bf2, which i never really got into.

as for the rest of november, f.e.a.r for the 360 will be incredible, already played the pc version to death but extra content is rumored so im looking forward to that, also f.e.a.r extraction point on pc will be cool (for about half a day, which is how long it will take to complete knowing fps expansions!)

moving away from shooters, im very, very excited about neverwinter nights 2 on nov 3rd. looks a lot similar to oblivion so i shall naturally be getting that.

now, time to start thinking of what bank to rob to fund that month...

since i have a 360, im not thinking currently about buying a ps3, especially as a £500+ price tag is a joke and most of the games are cross platform anyway. as for the wii, ive never really been into nintendo since the snes, so i shall be giving that a miss too i think. to be honest, i only really got a 360 because i was able to get it cheap, im a pc boy at heart, due to the fact my main interest in gaming is the fps, which is annoyingly hard to control on consoles. i even have windows installed on my macbook pro so i can play games at uni.. things run surprisingly well!

I really want to get Oblivion, but as we don't have a PC in the house that would run it I'd have to get an xbox 360 and I'm saving my money at the moment. I'll get over it eventually though, and I'll be $500 richer.

Elliot quote
12-10-2006 at 22:22

I don't game nearly as much as I did, but I still play from time-to-time. I donated my PS2 and a fair few games to a friend's shed, which we fixed up as somewhere just to hang out and watch films, but I've got a Gamecube and still enjoy a game of Mariokart or a play through of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Really, though, I love my RPGs, particularly the Final Fantasy series, though I've played through the games far too many times to want to re-play them any time soon.
So yeah, other than the odd RPG or game of Mariokart, my gaming nowadays is pretty much playing Tekken or Burnout with friends. I played WoW for a little while, but got bored pretty quickly.

i started WoW last saturday, and im not really liking it. im a night elf hunter, but im finding it very difficult, almost to the point where i dont wanna play, which is a shame because i read its so addictive and i was looking forward to months of endless play. i just cant seem to do any of the harder quests, and no one is ever really up for doing em together.

maybe i just joined the wrong class, i read hunter is difficult, but i really cant be bothered to start again. what level are you? im 15 now.

glen:
it was a little tough to figure out how to use it, but once i did it was easy. I have a SuperCard miniSD (because i had spare cards lying around from my phone) and a PassCard 3. It can run homebrew stuff too but I haven't found any homebrew stuff that was particularly useful to me. I have a fancy cellphone and an iPod for music, calculator, etc.
The one drawback is that it decrypts the cartridge, so it doesn't work when you try to do DS Download play with another DS that doesn't have the cartridge (or a PassCard). The other DS just freezes because it can't run the "unsigned" code.
But it's great for single player stuff and online play (i play MarioKart DS online with it).
I still buy games, by the way. I bought Starfox Command and MegaMan ZX just a couple of weeks ago.
U2U me if you wanna know more or have any questions.

Jorgy:
I have it. It runs. But my mac is just a bit too slow to run it comfortably.

beggling:
Night Elf Hunter takes a little effort at first but I happened to really enjoy that particular race/class combination. Part of the key to that race is using your pet as a tank to help you level up and get better with your bow & arrows. Things like Serpent Sting are really handy too. It pays to work on a melee weapon skill too so you don't totally collapse when a mob gets too close for you to arrow him.

and the Wii! I don't know yet. I think the hype is working on me though. I don't know anything about it apart from the crazy control system.

how the hell can you afford all that stuff and be a uni student?

i play the good games. ICO, rez, system shock 2, battlefield 1942 (by far the best one!), etc. anyone ever play natural selection? probably put more hours into that than any other game...fantastic. shame it's dead now, but hopefully will be remade for the source engine eventually.
