how to download concerts + videos
below is all the info you need to download sigur rós concerts and videos. if you have any questions please email darren@sigur-ros.co.uk.

can keep an eye on new concerts online. (its got an rss feed as well for handy subscription)

sigur rós peer to peer sharing of media files
for downloading and sharing sigur rós concerts, videos and other non-copyrighted media files, there are a few options you can choose from:
dc++
we have created a sigur rós file sharing room (or 'hub') in a simple program called dc++, through which fans can exchange concerts and other sigur
rós media files amongst each other. here are easy step-by-step instructions on how to access the hub:
1. download and install the dc++ client software: windows
(3 mb), mac os xor linux (size varies).
2. run the program and fill in your nickname in 'file.. settings'. the rest of the fields are optional.
3. in 'file.. settings.. sharing', select the folder where you store your sigur rós files for sharing.
4. next, click on the yellow star icon, then 'new', and fill in 'sigur rós' in the name field and our hub address
sigur-ros.no-ip.com:412 in the address field.
5. double-click on "sigur rós" to connect to the hub. if connection problems arise, see * below.
6. leave the program running in the background if you can. other sigur rós fans will be very grateful.
* having problems connecting to other users?
if you are behind a firewall or router you need to open ports 412 and 413 in your firewall/router settings. then, in settings, tick "active" and
fill in your ip address. in the port fields, fill in 413. an alternative is to switch from active to passive mode, but then you won't be able to
download from as many users.
soulseek
many sigur rós fans use soulseek for concert trading. you can download soulseek here.
ftp
the sigur rós ftp site hosts hundreds of sigur rós concerts and videos.
ftp address: ftp://ftp.sigur-ros.co.uk
username and password: anonymous
what is ftp?
note: dc++ and soulseek should only be used for the trading/swapping of files which do not fall under explicit copyright. e.g. live concerts. to do
otherwise is at the users own risk and is not condoned by this site.

i'm going tonight to a sigur rós show and i'd like to record the full show in video.
as far as i know the decision to allow or not allow the record belongs to the venue.am i right?
if that's true, can anyone give me some ideas to how record the show without being asked to stop by the security or something? it's for everyone's
interest :D

what about the possibility of including the *.ogg (ogg vorbis) format for the audio files ? Ogg Vorbis is a completely open, patent-free,
professional audio encoding and streaming technology. The benefits of Open Source are enormous. It w'd b great for the linux/mac and new portable
media devices community.

I have the entire Cincinnati, Ohio Sigur Ros concert filmed on 2/16/2006 last night on 8mm FILM but have no idea how to trasfer it on my pc or post it
online. I even have a meet and greet with jón þor (jónsi) birgisson (vocals, guitars), kjartan (kjarri) sveinsson (keyboards), orri páll dýrason
(drums) and georg (goggi) holm (bass) after the show getting autographs and pictures. Can anyone help me get this FILM online??? By the way great
fucking show boys.

what is the "seeding" for........i don't know why but i'm having trouble burning the hollywood bowl show to a disc. it doesn't let me cause the
supposed file isn't fit for the dvd creator......anyone have any suggestion as to how i can successfully burn my copy?

have you downloaded 100%? also, close down your bit torrent programme while you burn the dvd as this might cause problems.
seeding means that you are only uploading, it happens when you have downloaded 100% and are sharing all the info with other leechers. with bit torrent
its considered good ettiquette to upload at least the same amount that you download.

I wanted to join this hub thing, i recorde the enmore theatre gig in SAydney and it came out rally nicely so i'd like to share it. So i've
downloaded it, and set it all up (for Pc) i set up the Sigur Ros part with the link fo their hub, but for some reason when i double click on Sigur-ros
it can't connect. Have i done somethignwrong i followed the steps properly (as far as i know) and i just can't gte on there. This is the very 1st
hub i've started so it couldbe my lack of knowledge about it. but yea, help needed.

the ftp freebox.mistur.org is now up to date again you have video music and misc directory available
o - still anonymous acces with no password
o - 4 users at the same time
o - 2 connections per IP
o - shared bandwidth
o - bandwidth max for all : 1Mbits/s (128KB/s)
if there is only 1 user connected, he will have all the bandwidth for him, if not it will shared with others users.

i set up drrnwbb.com/bt/ again - it will never be a bit torrent tracker again but i will
use it as a starting point for people to get info etc. about recordings.

that's on the band's website.

a problem with DC++ that has just happened recently it says.
Failed to create port mappings. Please set up your NAT yourself.
i've tried going through the help index but to no avail.
will someone please advise on the next step?

so i thought maybe i would go to the dc++ to download some rarities but as I always assumed I would be, I was baffled. Firstly it says 'You will need
to purchase Microsoft Visual Studio 2005' is this true? and what even is this? also there are two versions stable and unstable. what? eeek

visual studio is only for if you want to compile the app from the source code (something only about 0,5% of people want to do). just go for the
"installer" option on the page.
think of "unstable" as a beta version for the next release - it has some features that the "stable" release has - but also has some bugs n stuff
that havent been fixed yet. so, go for "stable".

i recently got on the sigur hub for the first time...i was surprised by the lack of lossless audio sharing...mostly mp3 sharing there
i was re-directed to the bjorklossless hub as a better site for lossless sharing...i registered but still have not been able to successfully connect
yet..
anyway, my question is simple...why should sigur ros fans have to use the bjork or radiohead's respective hubs to share quality lossless files!??
why can't we all share our lossless sigur ros audio / video on the sigur hub????please, everyone connect to the sigur hub and bring your best
lossless material :-)))

PROBLEMS DOWNLOADING?
