hidden track? that didnt come in the mp3s, did it..
i just wanted to fool someone, sorry it was you. or am i the fooled one? i haven't found anything hidden. the glory has eleven names.
i love headphones. i knew they were good for something.
perhaps you should do the 'what song on takk... do you dislike the most' poll.
I bet the result would come out the same as in this one.
my vote at least goes to hoppipolla (terrible thing, I wonder what they were on when they recorded it)

i suspected it was a trick. but what the fuck, i am a fool.
i love hoppípolla and gong.
since i had to pick one, chose hoppípolla because it's the very first song i heard from this album and it's got actual lyrics... (silly
reasons, sorry)
What to think - I know I will end up loving this album but some of the tracks just washed over me on first hearing. Hoppipolla sounds like The
Beatles to me!
Glosoli was far and away the best for me, but I LOVED just how HEAVY Saeglopur gets. Really DARK. And Gong I love anyway. Can never see what the
fuss has been about Milano myself. I was throwing some shapes with the headphones on on several occasions.
I just can't help feeling, though, that after the huge huge build-up we've given it it falls just very slightly short of expectations. There are
some fantastic chunks. None of it is duff. All of it is at least great; but I wanted all of it to be breathtaking!
i can understand that people dislike hoppípolla; it is really really sweet. i like it very much (that's an understatement), but i'm not surprised
that some don't. it's almost corny (almost, but not really imo)

i thought the same the first time i heard it (and the second time). but it turned really fast to one of my eleven favorites. yes, a little beatles.
but the beatles are the greatest. it's so huge with the finishing med blódnasir.
svo hljott. hmmm or heysatan. damn, can't choose between them. .even Takk in it's shortness is beautiful. Like a sprinking of stars falling all
around.
yousialow...yousowntu...yousilaitforno...tu- I was there the first time they played Heysatan in texas...sort of.

Aw... I was just going to post how poetic that was, and then I saw it was you!

So I was right. :o)
It's the day and where I am, touching names etched in stone in time with Vaka and svo hljott . And thanks :)

that was my thought as well. i did not like hoppipolla either on the first few listens. but then it started growing on me and i absolutely love it
now.
I definitely love Hoppipolla, particularly the opening piano is moving, at least it moves me :) Maybe it would have sounded good as the closing track?
Im not saying Heysatan is not right, I just can imagine the album ending with Hoppipolla.
Anyway this is a great album, I loved it when I downloaded the tracks, I love the actual thing in my hands (and I'm going to buy both versions since
I found the regular first).
C'mon guys, vote and see which track gets the prize :P

Maybe that's because it's vidrar backwards, perhaps that gives you an uneasy feeling? I don't hate it, but I do think it sounds strange, like a
joke almost.
andvari is gorgeous in its subtleties (that's a cumbersome word, eh?). i voted for it simply because it is so different from the rest of the album in
my mind. not necessarily better or worse, just stands out.
Gong really really surprised me. I had heard the live clip available on the media page, and figured it would have changed a bit since then, but I had
no idea it could ever sound the way it does. I'm only on my second listen to the album, though, so I'm not going to vote yet.
I was a nerd and put off even watching the video, much less hearing Glósóli until today. I decided I'd check it out before going to the shop and
buying the record.
I was alone at work and became completely immersed in it. Hairs on my arm stood up and I nearly wept like a baby. Very powerful stuff. That's why my
#1 is what it is at the moment...although I wish they would have saved it for last.
i think maybe if i hadn't heard Glósóli before today then it would get my vote. i have only listened once, though, but i voted Svo Hljótt.
however, Hoppípolla had me bursting into smiles on my walk to the train tonight after class. folks on the city streets of chicago may have thought i
was a bit strange, but i couldn't stop smiling. i wanted to hug a fucking stranger and twirl them around or something. ha.
his voice is my favorite on Gong for some reason. it stuck out.
it's lovely! such a lovely hour and five minutes. worth the wait and worth the money. which is all that matters. :)
i cant see whats so standout about gong... but i think glosoli is perhaps my favourite song now (im upto svohljott on my second listen through the
CD). the first time i listened to hoppipolla i didnt think it was that good... on the second time through it really stood out though. perhaps it means
a little more when you know the story behind them. il give gong a good listen, perhaps im missing something...
perhaps i will go for a walk later and take the cd with me, see what i think when i get back
i'm still deciding on my favourite. i've listened to it 3 times now, but once was on my ipod - it sounds so much better coming through the stereo. i
think my current favourite is: Hoppípolla but the album's getting better and better with each listen, i only noticed how good Svo Hljótt was last
night. more listens required methinks
Was anyone else a bit disappointed by Glósóli? I don't really know what I was expecting, but the song just doesn't seem to have the vibrant melody
that their other big songs have had. And the climax at the end seems strangely out-of-control (in a negative sense). It's by no means a bad song --
if I heard it on the radio without knowing who it was I'd probably still immediately fall in love with it -- but it just doesn't do it for me as
much as the other tracks.
With that said, I'd might as well mention that I also found Svefn-G-Englar pretty dull the first few times I heard it...
